FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a Psychological Evaluation?

A psychological evaluation consists of a clinical interview (in our office), administration of a number of psychological tests (paper and pencil testing) and collecting of any additional, or collateral, information which can help us understand your situation. The psychological evaluation culminates in a typewritten, single-spaced report, which is typically 10 to 15 pages in length. The final report is very detailed and summarizes our findings and impressions, for you (your attorney; employer; other professional who may have referred you) to use in going forward with your situation. We remain available for any questions or recommendations as you go through the evaluation process. There are no risks or harmful procedures involved. We explain each step to you as we go along.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have prior to making an appointment, or any questions along the way of the evaluation.

  • How long does it take?

We typically see a person at least twice in our office for the interview and testing. We don’t want you to feel rushed, we want to be able to carefully obtain all information, and we want all details and information to be correct. It typically takes 3 weeks from the time of your last appointment with us until the final report is completed.
